COVID Green Card after September 15, 2021

On 8th September 2021, the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City submitted the Proposal No. 6436/TTr-SYT including the detailed action plan on preventing and controlling COVID-19 after 15th September 2021 (“Proposed Action Plan”). Accordingly, the Proposed Action Plan offers 07 strategies to prevent and control the epidemic as follows:

  1. Full coverage vaccination for all residents living in the city;
  2. Social distancing associated with the “COVID Green Card”;
  3. Encouragement of the message “Living healthy in an epidemic environment”;
  4. Taking care and management of F0 patients in the community;
  5. Improving treatment effect, reducing mortality from COVID-19;
  6. Epidemiological surveillance in response to the epidemic; and
  7. Restoration of the health system to meet the people’s health care demands.

In particular, the social distancing associated with the “COVID Green Card” attracts the public’s attention, including:

  • Gradually loosen up on social isolation measures based on risk assessment, epidemiological surveillance data and the health sector’s response ability to restore production and provide essential services, circulate goods;
  • Classification of industries and units according to the possibility of occurrence and outbreak of the epidemic, according to safety criteria to gradually restore operations; and
  • Using the “COVID green card” that allows people to participate in production and social activities according to the level of epidemic control.

(*) F0 recovered: having been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, expired the quarantine period prescribed by the Ministry of Health (with discharge paper or a completion of the quarantine period certification) within 06 months
